Smack through the mix with the Pearl StaveCraft Thai Oak snare! This 14" x 5.5" model is made of two layers of Thai oak that have been pressed into 2.5cm thick walls that come reinforced with solid bits of exotic makha wood. This construction - referred to by Pearl as a DadoLoc joint - lends the shell up to 50% additional strength and helps in shaping its bright, forceful sound.

StaveCraft Thai Oak Hardware

Since the hardware is essentially just as important as the wood and build quality, it's worth mentioning that Pearl have equipped the StaveCraft Thai Oak with their MasterCast hoops. These die-cast hoops ensure fast attack, which goes hand in hand with the clear sonic projection offered by the oak construction. Meanwhile, the fitted ST-150 Click Lock strainer makes sure the internal snare wires don't rattle out of place, and there's a set of Swivel tube lugs to keep the tension rods firmly in place.
